Boston 2002

We had only left 2 days for our visit to Boston, had it been 2 weeks it would have not been enough. Boston is not a large city, and that makes it easy to get around, it had a human scale with lots to do and see.

Lesley and I did the tourist bit visiting Bunker Hill, and the USS Constitution, the "Trolley" tour and a trip up the city's tallest building the Prudential Building. We also squeezed in a visit to MIT and Harvard University across the Charles River and a trip to the Science Museum.

We were sorry to leave this city with so much of it unexplored but as with the rest of New England we vowed that we would return some day.

All of these were developed by MIT and are flying machines powered by muscle power.

Bunker Hill Monument, the Americans must be the only nation to erect a monument to commemorate their defeat.

Boston

Typical town housing. Bit like a Glasgow tenement but with a bow front.

Lesley after she climbed Bunker Hill.

We didn't climb the nearly 300 steps to the top of the monument.

This not a beautiful sunset, we're looking east. What you see is airborne pollution caused by burning fossil fuels. There was a solid band running down the North East Coast of the US.
